FIT for PERFORMANCE

Don’t all skate shops do Custom Skate Fitting???

Well...many CLAIM to ‘custom fit’ ... and if you consider ‘punching out’ ankle bones a Custom Fit, then I guess they do. We know that there is just WAY more to it then that.

It’s why we don’t claim to custom fit skates...

The Pro Skate difference is that we ‘fit skates for performance’

For over 25 years we have proven that true ‘custom skate fitting’ is completed in two stages;

  1. We alter the shape of the boot to accommodate the comfort of ‘all areas’ of your foot...so the boot is fit for you… by achieving complete comfort, you’re only focused on your play of the game... NOT about how sore your feet are...

  2. We then align (position) the blades on the boot specifically for you. Correct alignment ensures total control of your edges, which always enhances performance. Proper blade alignment takes pressure off of your knees and lower back, helps reduce physical fatigue, and reduces premature break down of you skate boot.

Many of the greatest players and skaters have learned that by making certain that their skates have been ‘fit for performance’ they can enjoy the MANY benefits of maximizing their skating ability.

Skates that are 'fit for performance' will enhance your skating ability and performance. When your skates fit, AND the blades are aligned correctly, you control your skates; at every turn... they don't control you!

Even the most expensive skates on the market won't help you skate better if they don't fit.

CCM, GRAF, Bauer, Easton, RBK ... every manufacturer claims to build the best skates!

The truth is, none of the manufacturer’s makes a really bad skate, however... not every manufacturer builds the right skate for you!

Take the time to read and consider the following...

MANY players don’t realize or believe that wearing skates that are comfortable right out of the gate and that actually enhance their skating performance is an option!!

Many actually believe that the painful and tedious ‘breaking in skates’ is ‘normal’, or that an aching lower back or sore knee(s) is the price to pay for playing the game.

STOP IT ...it doesn’t have to be ‘normal’.

When your buying skates simply begin with the end in mind and then work backwards from there... in other words, when the fit is done what do you expect from your skates?

Pro Skate believes you should expect...A comfortable fit, and great performance, at a fair and reasonable price.

‘Take the Shot’... and let’s get started...

Our Fit for Performance Services Include:

Skate Stretching:

Is it close to the end of the hockey year and you have one more tournament to go and your skates are feeling tight? Are you heading into tryouts and do not want to go into them with new skates? We can actually stretch some length and width into your skates. The amount that we can stretch them is not a full size or anything like that, but usually enough to buy you some time. The stretching process does take some time and we need the skates over night. We can also stretch figure skates as well.

Punching out Skates:

Do your skates feel good except for a particular spot…your ankle bone? heel spur? small toe? Punching out your skate can usually relieve these common pressure points. This process is relatively quick and can be done on both hockey and figure skates.

Sharpening:

Next to the fit and blade alignment of your skates, the most important thing is your sharpening. Making sure your edges are even is vital. Depth of hollow is adjustable and is a preference thing. The deeper the hollow, the sharper it is. Less hollow, the blade is not as sharp.

Skate Rebuilding:

Do you have a pair of skates that you just love and do not want to get a new pair? We may be able to add some life back to your boot depending on the condition of it. This process involves gutting the boot and replacing the stiffening material and padding. We can be done to both hockey and figure skates.

Foot Beds:

Upgrading from the manufactures foot beds not only will improve comfort, but can also improve you skating performance. We have a couple of different kinds of foot beds offering different support. We recommend the use of foot beds in both hockey and figure skates.
